Fund Raising Committee
Lauren Jespersen, 2020 Campaign Chairman
Approximately 200 volunteers participate in raising money for the United Way Community Campaign and the Oregon Employees Charitable Fund Drive.
These volunteers serve as campaign coordinators at their workplace, and others assist by volunteering to be part of the campaign leadership team. The 2020 United Way Community Campaign raised $495,104 for 99% of our $500,000 campaign goal under the leadership of chairman Lauren Jespersen, Sky Lakes Medical Center foundation director. Amber Gomes, Umpqua Bank Community Relations Manager will chair the 2021 Community Campaign. The 2021 campaign goal will be set in May. As always, United Way accepts contributions, large or small, year-round. Please give what you can. Please contact United Way at 541-882-5558 if you wish to help. Fund Distribution Committee
This committee enlists the help of about 30 volunteers each year. Volunteers each contribute about 15 hours during the 8-week assignment. After a thorough review of all the agency programs seeking funds these volunteers make a funding recommendation to the United Way board of directors. Sheri Hargrave is the chairwoman of the fund distribution committee. Volunteers for 2021 are being recruited now. The process starts on March 31 and ends May 11th. It’s a fun, very informative process. Call United Way 882-5558 to get involved. The 2021 process will be conducted like the 2020 process with telephone conference calls due to COVID-19. Call United Way at 541-882-5558 for more information or to get involved. A volunteer registration form can be sent to you electronically, by US postal service, or (downloaded here).
