United Way Community Campaign

The 2009 United Way Community Campaign raised $770,817 about 7% less than the 2008 results. Toby Freeman, Community Relations Manager for Pacific Power chaired the Campaign. Klamath County Commissioner John Elliott will serve as the 2010 Campaign Chairman.

The 2010 community campaign will kick off on Tuesday, September 8th, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 2045 Arthur Street. Toby Freeman with Pacific Power, will chair the United Way campaign, and will announce a goal at the end of May. Volunteers are needed.

Loaned Executive Program
The United Way Loaned Executive program is vital to the overall success of the United Way Community Campaign. These special volunteers are responsible to raise about 60% of the campaign goal. Each executive volunteers between 40 and 50 hours during United Way's nine-week fund drive. They attend a two-day training and learn about the United Way member agencies, their programs, and much about United Way's operating policies and procedures. The loaned executives meet with CEO's and give presentations to thousands of employees at their workplace. There is no charge to participant in the program.

This is an especially great learning opportunity for new managers or people new to Klamath County. The 2010 Lonaed Executive Management Development program training will be held September
1st and 2nd. The 2009 program was chaired by Kingsley Field Commander,
Colonel Jim Miller. Call United Way for more details.
